Living Legacies: Linda O’Bryant and Alice Grossman
The Legacy of Thomas J. O’Bryant
Along with a successful career in the financial industry, transportation policy was a large part of Thomas O’Bryant’s life and legacy. Tom was a driving force behind Eno’s Future Leaders Development Conference and devoted a significant amount of his time to serving Eno’s transportation leadership and policy research efforts. He was a member of Eno’s Board of Directors for 12 years, spending nine of those years as treasurer, and served on the Eno Board of Advisors and Regents. His legacy and impact on the transportation industry lives on today through the Thomas J. O’Bryant Fellowship at Eno, which provides a graduate student an opportunity to work with Eno each summer. In this episode, Linda O’Bryant, his widow who endowed the Fellowship in his honor, will reflect on the importance of education and training to Eno’s legacy and discussion the ongoing impact of the Fellowship with former O’Bryant Fellow, Dr. Alice Grossman.

More about the Participants
Linda O’Bryant has enjoyed a career as a marketing and public relations consultant to corporations, government agencies, and non-profits, with management experience in design, advertising, and university relations. Her education includes an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BA in Design from the University of Illinois Chicago. Linda has been a member of IONS since the mid-1980s.
Alice Grossman is the AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellow at NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration. Prior to her current position, she was a policy analyst at the Eno Center for Transportation who conducted research in various areas of multimodal transportation. Dr. Grossman has worked extensively on research relating to metropolitan transportation planning and performance measurement, mobility-on-demand and TNCs, electronic travel diary development, K-12 and higher education in transportation, active transportation safety, and pedestrian infrastructure asset management and accessibility. She completed her B.A. at Vassar College in Physics and Astronomy, and her Ph.D. at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Civil Engineering.
